Sample Poems From "On Weary Steps"

Not the Raven
I am not Edgar Allan Poe
but I feel his ancient woes
speaking pain ever so slow
torturing a heart to grow

A remedy devised by lore
chosen for fictional wars
fought by The Ravens outpours
casting shadows for lost Lenore

I am not Edgar Allan Poe
but inspiration is bestowed
by collection of work owed
immortalizing the cruel foe

The lost seemingly The Raven
.........But I am not The Raven

The Forgotten Poet
Marvelous creature Edgar Allen Poe
sang his black words with gusto
whilst peering long into metaphorical snow
falling, settling on blank pages he bestowed.

What story rendered blackness within?
Did he commit such a horrendous sin?
"The Raven", he wrote, wore him thin
driving madness, dropping, silent as a pin.

To whom does the raven croak for?
A mystery held by the weathered lore
of a Queen among women named Lenore
to which that Raven whispered: "Nevermore"!
