Prospero, What Mask Does Thy Wear?

In my last post, I described the possible link between William Shakespeare, John Dee and Queen Elizabeth 1st. The following describes my latest research on the characters.

In my latest research, I have stumbled upon the notion of the theory that William Shakespeare (may) have based the character "Prospero" in the play "The Tempest" off of Dr John Dee himself. The titular character, Prospero, is described as fancying the magical/supernatural arts, such as Dr John Dee himself did so as well. In one piece of "The Tempest" - Prospero is released from his bondage (that of a tree).

The symbolism of a tree and its roots can be defined as somewhat meaning "Foundation" - release from the main foundation that be the "norm" or "necessitated conformity". However, as I described before from the 2011 movie "Anonymous" - it is first suggested that some of the plays, if not all, for Queen Elizabeth 1st, were signed "Anonymous" - never revealing the true person behind such viv and magic of the plays playing about before her very eyes.

Two theories:
That of which, if it be so true that she had a secret former lover, that this way she be the only one who knew that was behind the plays, poems and sonnets. Thus would validate (she always sacrificed her happiness for her safety).
The other theory be that of which that if it is so that Shakespeare based the character Prospero off of Dr John Dee, perhaps this would validate Shakespeares connection with Queen Elizabeth 1st. Another importance that can most likely support this theory is the "Dark Lady" mentioned by Shakespeare.

Given the details and the overbearing simplistic complexity of Prosperos Speech in The Tempest, its safe to assume that it can be not only contributed to Dr John Dee but to the Queen herself as well. As it is also known, the theory of which William Shakespeare based his work off of, the political happenings within the British Empire.

Its also safe to assume given the circumstances that William Shakespeare had a purported family to feed and the constant failure in employment - possible to say perhaps Edward de Vere, 17th Earl Of Oxford (thus would have access to deeper levels within the castle walls), played a role in charging Shakespeare with a job in a "playwright" position - also similarily suggested in the movie "Anonymous".

Back to Dr John Dee, however.

Dr. John Dee was considered, although less notably known, as a spy for Queen Elizabeth 1st. If it is said that William Shakespeare based the character Prospero off of Dee, wouldnt this suggest a possible meeting between the two if William Shakespeare was just a simple commoner? If so, it is safe to assume that the Queens secret lover could have been Shakespeare himself or that of Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl Of Oxford. With such a level it be to have that sort of knowledge, it is also safe to assume the concept of secrecy was a norm within the castle walls. In fact, during this age and time period, also known as the Renaissance Era, theological thinking, "thinking outside the box", was more than enough stressed in the education of all scholars, politicians, scientists, writers, war tactitions, religious companies, etc..... So it is also possibly theorized now that if William Shakespeare be the true writer/playwright of all the plays, sonnets and poems we know today - then Im sure the Queen and others have caught on the link between the plays and such to the Queen and the Royal Family and its associates.

In The Tempest, Prosperos Speech, most notably known, sounds of a reference of a love longed for - Could Dee been more than a associate of the Queen? Elizabeth the 1st and Queen Mary, have both showed interest in Magic and Horoscopes, and the like so is it safe to assume this theory?

With such connections and theories abounding - it is safe to say that there is definitely a connection between all three (Dr John Dee, William Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth 1st). But what connections be those though?

The Wytches Brew: Inspirational Turmoil

In my last post, I discussed the on-going global debate whether or not William Shakespeare did in fact write current existing Plays, Sonnets and Poems. In my latest studies, Ive begun to ponder the musical adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Wytches Brew" by the Underground Pagan artists extraordinaire (Omnia). One of the continuing debates is whether or not, despite whom wrote the Plays, Sonnets and Poems, they were inspired by actual political and scandalous happenings within the royal families of the Era.

For the sake of debate and this blog, I will be focusing on "The Wytches Brew" - A possible connection of inspiration from actual events taking place within the royal families.

During Queen Elizabeth (1st) Era, three key figures existed during the very same period. Queen Elizabeth herself, William Shakespeare and Dr. John Dee (a notable magician, alchemyst and spy - just to name a few among the many traits of Dr John Dee). Another topic from whence a debate also ensues is the Queens love life, which is also suggested in the movie "Anonymous" (Which is a amazing movie by the way).

If one is to put the several pieces together, it makes sense to think that all these can be connected to bring about the inspiration of The Wytches Brew by the band Omnia and the reference in William Shakespeares play "Macbeth". The cross-reference between Macbeth and the debate about the Queens love interests/affairs is quite a strong one at that.

What we understand in todays society, including through the power of Media, (Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned), that we can understand from this reference that a possible failed love interest and/or affair played a part in the reference to The Wytches Brew. If William Shakespeare truly wrote the plays, sonnets and poems, including Macbeth, we can re-introduce the possibility of Dr. John Dee playing a part in this issue. During the time of Queen Elizabeth I era - any form of Magic was widely prohibited thus the possible secrecy of Dr John Dee's existance and/or role in the issue. A possible theory could very well make sense.

Theory #1: The story of Macbeth inspired by a woman (Queen Elizabeth I) scolded by her lover (always sacrificed happiness for safety - as it is known) - thus turning to her best spy (Dr John Dee - magician, alchemist and many other traits), to concoct a spell and/or brew to seek revenge on her lover.

If William Shakespeare truly wrote these plays, this theory can be supported by a possible meeting between Dr John Dee and William Shakespeare. This can also be supported by the theory that Queen Elizabeth not only played a part in the writing of the plays, sonnets and poems but also was interested in the magical arts as well.

In todays society, we see this as outlandish but putting the pieces of the puzzles together it all makes sense at the same time. Considering the laws of the time period and the chastizing by the mundane royal court, including the time of The Inquisition, one can only imagine the fateful atrocities being brought down upon their heads in the event such scandals were made public, if you will.

As mentioned before, it was known that Queen Elizabeth always sacrificed her happiness for the sake of safety. One can only assume and theorize, understandably, why such a woman of her stature could have played a part in the inspirational overtone of historical literature.

The Art Of Shakespeare

Shakespeare has been revered for Centuries after his death yet he was already being revered during his time here on Earth. Shakespeare has been a major influence on the literary world for all levels of education. As we grow up through life and going to Elementary School, Junior High and High School we are taught that William Shakespeare was the original Author of so many plays, sonnets and poems, most notably Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet and A Midsummer Nights Dream. The study of such of a literary master has played a huge role on our studies of literature and how we go about the methods we use for modern times poetry and the methods we use for fiction writing as well.

Yet a defining debate is still raging like a wildfire till this day.

Did William Shakespeare really write all of his plays, sonnets and poetry?

So much debate and emphasis have been placed as to the meaning of his plays and sonnets. During the time of William Shakespeares existence, political turmoil and scandalism became the norm within the royal family. As the 2011 movie "Anonymous" would suggests, its one of many debates revolves around the possibility that Shakespeare stole the work and therefore was not the original author of all the plays and sonnets. Another debate exists suggesting that if William Shakespeare was the original author of all the plays, sonnets and poetry, that it suggests he was sneakily writing about Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family.

Regardless of the inspiration behind William Shakespeares writings, if he did write it all, will eternally last throughout the ages and continue to influence new and big time authors.
